CPC092292 344.DOC The Complete FAX and FAX 9624 Faxing from PageMaker This document is provided as "For your information" and as is. Neither The Complete PC nor any of it's employees assume any responsibility for consequences resulting from the use of the following information nor can the Complete PC technical support provide help with this document. The user of said information does so at his or her own risk. Using a favorite word processing program, you must edit the WIN.INI file so that a file name with the extension ."PRN=" is listed in the section of the file where you see things such as "LPT1:=" and "COM1:=." This file name can be added at the very bottom of this section where a blank line has been left for this purpose. If all is done correctly, the file name will appear after the attempt to print to a file is made. AFTER the change has been made to the file, enter Page Maker by double clicking on the Page maker icon in Windows. BEFORE loading a document, move the mouse cursor to the very upper left-hand corner and "click" the box. A menu should appear and one of the options should be CONTROL PANEL. Enter the control panel and "click" the CONNECTIONS label. Go to the box on the left and "click" the Epson printer you have previously installed. Go to the box on the right and scroll down until you come to the filename you entered into the WIN.INI file earlier. When the filename appears, "click" the name and notice that the box on the left should indicate an Epson printer on the filename entered in the WIN.INI file. When the printer has been selected and the filename has been chosen for output, print the file as you would ordinarily to an Epson printer on a filename instead of LPT1. You can then enter CFAX and FAX the file. Note that it is not in our format. To view the file, use the CONVERT TO FAX function in CFAX and use the 'G' code.
